Dr. Josh Brandon, Loganville High School
Dr. Brandon has vast teaching experience across elementary, secondary, and at the collegiate level. Dr. Brandon oversees all aspects of the Loganville High School Band program including the Marching Red Devils, Symphonic Winds and Concert Band, chamber groups, and percussion ensemble. Ensembles under his direction have consistently earned superior and excellent ratings at Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) events.
His experience began in Macon, GA, where he taught at Tatnnall Square Academy for 3 years. Brandon soon moved to Athens to work for the University of Georgia in Education IT Support and with the University of Georgia Band program while working on his doctorate degree. Dr. Brandon soon assumed the band director position at Union Grove Middle School in McDonough, GA, for 4 years.
Dr. Brandon attended Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL, where he earned a Bachelors of Arts in Instrumental Music Education. While at JSU, Dr. Brandon marched in the world-renown Marching Southerners and participated in many band and choral ensembles. He soon earned a Masters in Music Education degree from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, GA. Finally, Dr. Brandon earned his Doctorate in Education degree in Music Education at the University of Georgia. His dissertation focused on the lesson planning strategies, teaching behaviors, and teaching topics covered in the beginning band classroom.
Dr. Brandon resides in Monroe, GA, with his wife Toni and sweet baby girl, Kennedy Lane.
